Next Generation Leadership: Christopher Stike to Head Utility Division

We’re proud to announce the next generation of leadership in our Utility Division: Christopher Stike has been named Vice President, continuing a legacy more than three decades in the making. He succeeds his father, David Stike, who founded and led the division for 32 years.
With deep roots in the company and a career built from the ground up, Christopher steps into this role with a clear vision for growth, collaboration, and continued success. His journey with Sanford Contractors began in the mid-’90s, when he joined as a high school student working on project takeoffs and material orders. Throughout college, he gained field experience as a superintendent before moving into estimating and project management. Over the years, Christopher has taken on increasing leadership responsibilities, most recently serving as Assistant Vice President.
He also recently earned his Associate Design-Build Professional (Assoc. DBIA) certification—a credential that reflects his commitment to continuous learning and collaborative project delivery. “Helping this division expand and creating opportunities for our team to grow with it is something I take personally,” he said.
Stepping into this role is both a professional goal and a personal milestone. “It’s even more special to take over from my dad,” Christopher shared. “He’s always been supportive and has shown that everyone on the team plays a critical role in our success.” Known for his approachable and collaborative leadership style, Christopher believes the best solutions come when the whole team brings their strengths to the table.
Outside of work, Christopher enjoys grilling out, heading to the beach, and spending time with his wife, Jessica, and their two dogs. One of his favorite projects so far? The 210 Wastewater Treatment Plant Effluent Force Main and Dechlorination Facility, memorable for its scope and the collaboration it required across three SCI divisions.
For David, the transition is a proud milestone. “It’s been an honor to build this division over the past 32 years, alongside such great people—our team members, partners, and clients,” he said. “I’ve worked with Christopher since he was in high school. He’s ready, he’s capable, and the division’s future is in great hands.”
